Piccolo dies. The film “Brian’s Song,”
depicting the relationship between Piccolo and his team mate Gayle Sayres is
one of the most emotional viewing experiences you’ll ever have. (To this day, I cannot watch this film without welling up with tears, a true testament to the acting abilities of these two men ... Billy Dee Williams and James Caan ... and the sadness of a talent taken from us far too soon.)
Also on this date, the organizers of the Woodstock Art
and Music Festival announce that they lost over $1.2 Million on the concert …
but they will eventually earn all of that back (and more) thanks to the
royalties generated by the film and film soundtrack.
