September 28th, 1970

"Candida" hangs on to the #1 spot for another week.

Meanwhile, EIGHT of the remaining nine Top Ten Records have all moved up this week ... a pretty incredible feat in and of itself!  (And 7 of the Top 10 Records have "bullets" this week, too!)

"Green Eyed Lady" moves up 11 places (from #23 to #12) and The Poppy Family climb ten spots with their follow-up hit "That's Where I Went Wrong."  (I always liked this song ... it moves from #35 to #25 this week.)

Other than last week's three Hit Bound Tracks, there are no new premiers on this week's chart ... but I DO like THIS week's Hit Bound Pick, "Gypsy Woman" by Brian Hyland.  Hyland last hit the WCFL Chart in 1966 with "The Joker Went Wild," which peaked at #6.

Also on this date ...

1970:  September 28th – Eric Burdon and War are presented with a Gold Record for sales of their single “Spill The Wine.”  (It's still hanging on at #31 on this week's 'CFL Chart.)
