Thursday This And That

One last time, over easy …

>>>And, yes, we did check the "Sell By" date. It was the next day. I checked with my Friend Google and because store-bought eggs are supposed to be good for three to five weeks after their "Freshness Date," we picked up two cartons!  I had a recently rare, but wonderful three-egg Omelette this morning!  (Chuck Buell)

I’m not sure I would have been so bold …

I just keep thinking about that whole “This tape will self-destruct in five seconds” thing …

And can only imagine that happening to my stomach after such a risk!  Lol  (kk)

And now this Egg-citing Forgotten Hits TV Announcement!

Sunday Night at 6 Eastern – 9 Pacific on Forgotten Hits TV, a Very Special Edition of “60 Seconds!”

Forgotten Hitter Chuck Buell continues with his Egg-ceptional and Eggs-troidenary Eggs-posé on “The Egg Cartel – What it Means to US Eggs Music!”

You’ll hear his Eggs-clusive 60 Minutes 60 Seconds Egg Minute Medley Uncover “Songs You Know by Heart”…

About Eggs.

I almost held this one back ...

I mean I've heard of the "two minute egg" ...

But really, a minute and a half egg?  Is there such a thing???

Meanwhile, enough of the egg talk for now …

I think we may have over-eggstended our welcome with this one!

(And, quite honestly, I'm eggshausted!!!)  kk

>>>When Paul Simon stopped at a Chinese Restaurant for dinner, he found an interesting Chicken and Egg dish on the menu … cleverly called the “Mother And Child Reunion.”  The rest, as you know, is history!  (kk)

HA!  Good one, Kent!  I like it!  AND, perhaps hard to believe, I actually had not heard that one before!

You also provided an update on the upcoming Eagles tour mentioning that Deacon Frey, who has been a part of the Eagles for the past four and a half years, will NOT be a part of the band on this tour.  When I saw them in concert several years ago, it was and still is, one of my all-time favorite performances with "young" Frey and Vince Gill fitting in just as they should!

Anyway I, and many other Forgotten Hitters, are aware that ~~~

I'd better set my Official Eagles Clock!

CB ( which stands for "Clock Boy!" )

Hey, some of us (myself being one) never thought Joe Walsh would last as a member of The Eagles ... so who knows.  I LOVE the idea of Vince Gill being onboard ... and am still quite amazed that they even thought to ask him.  (My guess is Vince's time in Pure Prairie League might have had something to do with it ... and he is completely honored to be a member of the band ... even if only as a "hired hand.")  Under the circumstances, the decision allowed the band to keep going after Glenn Frey's passing a few years ago.  (Think about how many shows they done since then ... for a while there, they were ready to call it quits, stating that it couldn't really be The Eagles without both Don Henley and Glenn Frey aboard ... but they still sound just great ... an INCREDIBLY talented band ... and always one of our favorites.)

We’ve seen The Eagles a couple of times now … but not since Glenn Frey’s passing … and would LOVE to see them with Vince Gill (who is another one of our favorite singers.)

No Chicago date on the 2023 tour as of yet … but that could change.  I figure we’ve got one last chance to see them … and with Vince taking on a larger share of the load on lead vocals, I think it would be a great show to see.

But these shows ain’t cheap!!!  Not by a long shot.  Still, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better band to see live in concert … and hearing them perform the entire “Hotel California” album start-to-finish with an orchestra … and then come back with a set of Their Greatest Hits holds a WHOLE lot of appeal to me!  We’ll see what happens!  (kk)

Kent,

In Sunday's FH about three lines above the cartoon you posted at the bottom, you had written from "Poop" to "Pop" … and that reminded me of Chuck Berry's 1960 record TOO POOPED TO POP. Also, the other day it apparently was national DJ day. That reminded me of 1963 Anthony and the Sophomores PLAY THOSE OLDIES MR DJ and the Sensations 1956 PLAY THOSE OLDIES MR. DJ. It seems to me there was one or two other records with DJ in the title, but I can't remember them offhand.

Larry

That’s funny … because you mentioning TOO POOPED TO POP reminded ME of “Vitameatavegamin!!!”  (lol)

And, after reading your eggsceptional pieces regarding the current prices and availability of eggs, the only record (song) I could think of was CHINESE ROCK AND EGG ROLL by comedian Buddy Hackett (remember him?) from 1956 (Coral)

Larry

I actually HAVE that Buddy Hackett 45, a #87 hit in Billboard that somehow made it all the way up to #44 in Cash Box!  Search around on YouTube and you’ll find some absolutely hilarious television appearances by this guy!  (kk)
