8/22/64 – “Where Did Our Love Go” becomes the first #1 Record for The Supremes. (They reportedly got the chance to record it after The Marvelettes turned it down!)
The previously nick-named “No Hit Supremes” would also top the charts with their next four singles, giving the girls FIVE consecutive #1 records. (They’d go on to have eight more before Diana Ross left the trio to pursue a solo career.)
