The Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” has been nominated for EIGHT Academy Awards!
These include:
Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role (Timothee Chalamet), Actress in a Supporting Role (Monica Barbaro), Actor in a Supporting Role (Edward Norton), Director (James Mangold), Adapted Screenplay, Sound and Costume Design.
There’s some pretty tough competition here to overcome …
But hopefully the film will be recognized for the great effort that it is. (At least I stayed awake for this one!!! I must have fallen asleep four different times during “Wicked!!!”) kk
Meanwhile, Timothee Chalamet hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the third time this past weekend … and also performed as the musical guest, playing a few “off the radar” Bob Dylan songs in the process. All in all, he STILL came across as a very likeable character … now I just hope he WINS something!!! (kk)

Aerosmith are reuniting (at least for one night) to perform at Steven Tyler’s Grammy Party on February 2nd.
It’s all part of Tyler’s 6th Annual “Jammin’ For Janey” fundraisers, this time dedicating themselves to the victims of these California fires. Other artists will also be performing, including Joan Jett and Billy Idol.
And let’s not forget the BIG fundraiser next Thursday Night (January 30th)

I was very saddened to hear that Steuart Smith, the longtime unsung hero of The Eagles is having to step down from his concert performances after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He has been with them every step of the way over the past 25 years, coming from first performing as part of Don Henley’s band during The Eagles’ break prior to hell freezing over.
Never fully recognized as a member of the band … and not always even recognized on stage during their live performances (despite also writing and co-writing songs that The Eagles recorded during these past few decades), he has made a contribution to their continued success that cannot be measured.
In Steuart’s own words:
"It is with profound regret that, due to performance issues associated with my recently diagnosed Parkinsonism, I find that I must bow out of my role with the Eagles while I can still do so gracefully. It's been a great quarter of a century, and I had hoped to be able to finish out this year with the band, but I must now do what's best for all concerned."
He has been replaced by Chris Holt, who joined the band when they returned to The Sphere for their next stretch of performances.
With Don Henley being the only remaining original member, everyone else seems to fall into the “hired hands” category (although Joe Walsh And Timothy B. Schmit are probably a few rungs higher up the ladder than Glenn Frey’s son Deacon and newcomer Vince Gill … which gives you some idea as to just how LOW on the totem pole some of the other featured performers on stage really rank!)
Still, with The Eagles it has ALWAYS been about producing the music live at the same level that they did in the studio … and at this they excel to perfection. We wish Steuart peace moving forward. (kk)

Kent,
Longtime radio DJ here in the Oklahoma City area Dale Wehba, has passed away at the age of 88.
I am enclosing the notice that was given to me online. I figured some of your readers may remember him from the early days of rock and roll. I have copies of the two 45's he made during the fifties.

An update from Stephen Bishop on his new, upcoming (and final) LP …
Exciting news —THIMK has officially turned into a full album! What started as six songs has now grown to ten tracks, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share this project with you.
I’ll also be joined by some amazing friends as featured guests, and you might recognize a few of them! One of those friends is my pal David Pack (formerly of Ambrosia and the writer behind all their hit songs). David stopped by to lend his iconic vocals to one of the tracks on THIMK.
This project means the world to me, as it will be my final recorded album. Having David’s incredible talent on it makes it even more special. I can’t wait for you all to hear his track — and the full album — when it’s released in late Spring of 2025!
