TODAY'S NEWS:
Paul McCartney was back at The Bowery Club Wednesday Night for another quick show for 575 standing room only fans.
The gigs were "warm-up exercises" for his appearance this weekend on the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary television special we told you about in yesterday's post.
Macca mixed up the set list a little bit ... and added a couple of old chestnuts he hasn't performed in a while (neither of which are likely to make the cut for what I'm sure will be a VERY brief appearance on the SNL special, given the length of the guest list.)
On Wednesday, he performed:
Can’t Buy Me Love (Tuesday's show kicked off with "A Hard Day's Night")
Flaming Pie (often performed as part of the sound check - but not done live in a concert setting since 2009)
Got to Get You Into My Life
Let Me Roll It
Getting Better (replacing "Letting Go")
Let ‘Em In (new)
My Valentine
Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five
Every Night (an early solo favorite, last done in 2017)
I’ve Just Seen a Face
Love Me Do (replacing "From Me To You")
Blackbird
Come On To Me
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Drive My Car (replacing "Jet")
Get Back
Now and Then
Lady Madonna
Let It Be
Hey Jude
Golden Slumbers
Carry That Weight
The End
Not a bad show for fifty bucks! (Watch for a 2025 American Tour announcement any day now!) kk
