The Chicago White Sox reacquire shortstop Luis Aparicio from The Baltimore Orioles.  Little Louie was one of the most-popular White Sox players ever and was part of The Go-Go Sox when they won The American League pennant in 1959.

 

Robert McNamara announces his resignation as Secretary of Defense.  He will officially step down from this office on February 29th, 1968.   

He had been encouraging President Lyndon Johnson to stop the bombing and pull out of Viet Nam but Johnson ignored his advice.  In April of next year he will become President of The World Bank with Johnson's full support.
