1972 - Coast-To-Coast Surveys - December 13th - MARYLAND

"Clair" tops the chart in Rockville, Maryland, on the new WINX Chart, giving Gilbert O'Sullivan back-to-back #1 Hits right out of the box.

Bulldog's "No" is just starting to climb the chart here after peaking several weeks / months ago in other cities ... another song cheated out of its true hit status and potential.

And look at these new premiers ...

"Why Can't We Live Together" by Timmy Thomas, "Hi, Hi, Hi" by Wings (Wow!  Paul McCartney's name isn't shown here, just like on the label!) and "Separate Ways" by Elvis, a heartbreaking tune at the time in light of his upcoming divorce from Priscilla.

And we've been seeing "Because Of You" by Kracker on the last several charts we've run, too.

That's one I'm not familiar with ... it "bubbled under" in both Billboard and Cash Box but reached #72 in Record World.  The record wasn't played here in Chicago ... but I was curious enough about it to check it out ... and share it with all of you.

So this week, FOUR tracks representing the second week of December, 1972!
