PLEASE NOTE: Several titles had to be eliminated from the competition, despite, in some cases, having already earned DOZENS of your votes. We're using Joel Whitburn's latest book, "Top Pop Singles", 12th Edition to determine whether or not the songs selected qualify as "Instrumentals".
NECK-AND-NECK: As we post this list this morning, we have a TIE for First Place in the voting!!! Percy Faith's "Theme from 'A Summer Place'" and Santo and Johnny's "Sleep Walk" have been trading off the top spot ever since the voting began ... in fact, at this point, their lead is SO commanding that I'm not sure anything on the list can overtake these two as your all-time favorites ... but it'll still be interesting to see which other songs come out on top. (Maybe in effect we DID "pair" down the list!!!) Meanwhile, here is some vintage footage (courtesy of YouTube) of our Top Two Tracks thus far:

And ... speaking of instrumentals ...
