PLEASE NOTE: Our regularly scheduled "Sweet 16" feature was pre-empted yesterday due to the death of Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner ...
We are now running it a day late for your enjoyment.
Forgotten Hits officially declared 2016 as "Sweet 16" ...
So, on the 16th and 29th of every month (because THIS year EVERY month has at least 29 days) we'll be doing some sort of special Sweet 16 Countdown.
Today ...

If nothing else, this list pretty much proves that The Rolling Stones' GREATEST music came out between 1964 and 1978 ... there are some tunes on this '70's list that don't even get (or deserve) airplay anymore. And notice that even a couple of these are actually 1960's retreads ("You Can't Always Get What You Want" was the original B-Side of their 1969 chart-topper "Honky Tonk Women" ... and "Out Of Time" is a FAR inferior remix of their great 1965 album track ... which probably would have been a decent-sized hit at the time, had it been released as a single.)
Sure, they'd come back with a brand new gem every once in awhile ("Start Me Up" and "Waiting On A Friend", 1981), but The Stones didn't even chart 16 times in the '80's ... so you won't be seeing a Sweet 16 '80's countdown any time soon!
