Speaking of Arthur Conley, he received a gold record for his big hit "Sweet Soul Music" today, which reached #2 on the pop charts earlier this year. In a way, it's rather surprising … as the song is virtually a note-for-note knock-off of Sam Cooke's "Yeah Man". Conley shared writing credit on his reworking, however … the song's official songwriters include Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Arthur Conley!
