And the winner is ... "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)," which leapfrogs EVERYBODY to take over the #1 spot on this week's WCFL Chart. (Not a bad move, having been #9 last week!)
The Beatles finally make The Top Ten this week as "For You Blue" / "The Long And Winding Road" comes in at #9. Also new to The Top Ten is "Band Of Gold" by Freda Pane (up from #17 to #8 ... and perhaps the one to watch moving forward!)
Alive And Kicking continue their climb toward the top as "Tighter, Tighter" jumps twelve places from #34 to #22.
We've got five new premiers this week ... but the one that you'll remember is "Close To You" by The Carpenters. It will go on to become not only one of the biggest hits of the '70's, but also one of the biggest hits of all time.
