"I Think I Love You" holds on to the #1 spot for a second week in a row as "Gypsy Woman" slides into the #2 spot.
Meanwhile, "Fire And Rain" loses its bullet at #3 (maybe it won't be a #1 Record after all!) while "Yellow River" and "The Tears Of A Clown" continue to climb.
"Montego Bay" makes an 11 point jump to land at #7 this week ... and "Mongoose" becomes a Top Ten Hit in Chicago for Elephant's Memory. (Nationally, it made it to #40 in Record World ... and stopped at #50 in Billboard.)
"Cry Me A River" is up ten places for Joe Cocker (#30 to #20) and "See Me, Feel Me" by The Who debuts at #21 after being one of last week's Hit Bound Picks.
Chicago also makes a ten point leap (from #35 to #25) with their latest, "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" ... and there's some GREAT new music on the chart this week as "As The Years Go By" by Mashmakhan, "After Midnight" by Eric Clapton, "No Matter What" by Badfinger and "One Man Band" by Three Dog Night all make their chart debuts.
Dawn's "Candida" (a former #1 Record) falls to #29 but their follow-up hit, "Knock Three Times," is waiting in the wings on this week's Hit Bound list. (I also like Robert John's "When The Party Is Over," which was virtually ignored everywhere else in the country (#71 in Billboard), only to become a #19 Hit here in Chicago. (Interesting that WLS chose not to play this one or the now Top Ten Hit "Mongoose.")
