1971 SUPER CHARTS - Week Ending May 1st

Three Dog Night log their third week at #1 ... but the big mover this week within The Top 40 belongs to Aretha Franklin, as her new version of Paul Simon's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" skyrockets 25 places from #35 to #10. 

The Doors also make an impressive move of 21 spots (from #37 to #16) with their latest, "Love Her Madly."  "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo" makes a 13 spot jump from #39 to #26 ... while Donny Osmond's "Sweet And Innocent" jumps seventeen places from #50 to #33.

But the REAL headliner grabber this week is "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones ... up an incredible 42 PLACES from #83 to #41.  "Want Ads" by The Honey Cone climbs 36 places while the reissue of Murray Head's "Superstar" is up 21 spots, "It Don't Come Easy" by Ringo Starr leaps 25 places and Wilson Pickett is up 22 spots with his latest hit, "Don't Knock My Love."

Grand Funk Railroad premier at #85 with their version of "Feelin' Alright, not one you hear all the time ... so it's today's FORGOTTEN HIT!
