And an oldie but goodie from Mike Wolstein …

Hi, Kent!

Hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday season!

Happy holidays,

Some GREAT news from Pam Pulice on the Dick Biondi film …

Dear Friends,

OMG!  What a fantastic day yesterday was!  Where do I begin???

Last night at the Cornerstones of Rock concert Ron Onesti brought Joe Farina and me onstage. He said:  “I hear the Dick Biondi film is complete."

"The story is done," I said as the crowd erupted in applause. "All we need now is to pay for licensing and to polish it for broadcast. We are on the last leg of the journey, thanks to you, Ron, and to my wonderful Director of Communications & Marketing, Joe Farina, and all of our awesome supporters. ”

Ron holds up one of two guitars and gives credos to the Cornerstones artists backstage who have generously autographed the guitars, performed at fundraisers, and given interviews for Dick’s movie.  In less than five minutes, Ron raised $7,000 which, combined with the proceeds from his successful fundraiser in September, will pay for the Dick Biondi film's licensing!  A huge thank you to Ron and to our incredibly generous bidders, Lynn Steffen and Greg Ellis! As Joe and I walked offstage I was stunned.  What just happened?  It was mind-blowing!

Be sure to check the Dick Biondi Film Facebook page for a special update.

Oh what a night at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois! The amazing Ron Onesti made magic happen as only he can when he live-auctioned two autographed guitars and raised $7,000 which will go toward the cost of licensing for the Dick Biondi documentary, "The Voice That Rocked America".  Joe and I are on cloud nine thanks to Ron and our generous bidders, Lynn Steffen and Greg Ellis, pictured here with their prized guitars.  We love you all!

Thanks, Jim Summaria, for this cool photo.
Jim and Mark Plotnick published the book:
"Classic Rock: Photographs from Yesterday & Today"

My good friend Jan Tobusch-Oliver captured the moment on video --

I received this message from Dick's old pals in Endicott, New York:

Pam,

We four Northside veterans had lunch at Jonathan's today. We all know Dick. I gave each one a mug. I'm wearing a hat. George is to my left. Frank is standing and Rudy is sitting. We are all retired. George retired as Principal of U-E High School and I retired as a teacher from Binghamton. Frank and Rudy retired from IBM.

Pam, take care.

Love,

Gene

Dick Biondi is one of the giants of Top 40 radio. He is as important to the history of rock 'n' roll as Alan Freed, Dick Clark, and Wolfman Jack. Please help bring Dick's legacy to the world!

I asked Pam what all of this meant to the fans who have been waiting SO many years now to see this film ...

What does it really mean timewise?

If the licensing is now covered (?) and the deal with PBS has been struck (?) ...

Is there any anticipated air date we can announce?

What else still needs to happen before fans can finally see the final cut?

Also ... what can you tell us about any dvd plans / film festival showings / schedule / etc.

(Won't it be great to concentrate all of your efforts on PROMOTING the film instead of constantly having to come up with new ways to entice folks to contribute to it?!?!  lol  Now you'll FINALLY be able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of all your efforts ... and take tthe well-deserved final bow as more and more people discover your amazing film.

So, above all else, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Now when can we finally see it?!?!?  (lol)  kk

Hi Kent,

We have a movie!

As you can imagine after 7-1/2 years, I am celebrating this milestone!  It is a rough cut, meaning, the story is complete but it’s not ready for broadcast until we research and license all of the images and music, which could easily take a few months, polish the film which includes color correction, sound design, etc., and prepare for broadcast.

Saturday night at the Cornerstones of Rock concert Ron Onesti made magic happen by live-auctioning two autographed guitars signed by Felix Cavalier and these amazing artists.  When Lynn Steffen, who is already a generous sponsor, and Greg Ellis both won guitars we received an additional $7,000 towards our licensing.  It happened so fast, I left the stage walking on clouds!.  Thanks to Ron Onesti, Joe Farina, the Cornerstones of Rock artists, our amazing sponsors and individual donors, the end is in sight.

We have four PBS stations with letters of support in markets where Biondi is well known ... however, the doc will not be broadcast until the film is finished and fully funded.  I believe we may be able to hold some public screenings, like Denny Tedesco did to fund his documentary, The Wrecking Crew. I was at the Rialto in Joliet when we saw his rough cut and I’m hoping we can do the same.   I’ll keep you posted.

It’s happening, Kent, and if all goes well, I hope and pray “The Voice That Rocked America: The Dick Biondi Story” will be released in Spring, 2022.
