That's right, folks ...
We've got a Super-Sized Sunday Dose of Random Ramblings by CB ...
(which, in this case, stands for Contributor Boy!!!)
Take it away, Chuck!
Saturday in Forgotten Hits, Phil Nee paid tribute to Kent's all-time favorite song, "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum from July, 1967.
Here is our official Chuck Buell follow up …

And, on a bit more serious note ...
Well, Today, July 10th, 2022, the Cost of Stamps, the Cost of Mailing a Letter goes UP!
I wrote this Press Release for the United States Postal Service and then ~~~
I gave my letter to the Postman, he put it in his sack.
Bright and early next morning, he brought my letter back.
They wrote upon it, “Return to sender, address unknown!
No such number, no such zone!
And I had even designed a nice new stamp for them too! All follows.
OK, here’s what I sent to them;

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 10, 2022
Postage Rate Increase
ATTN: All US Postal Patrons
As you are aware from all the mailings we’ve sent you in the last week or so, your US Postal Service is excited to announce that we will once again be raising all postage rates effective this Sunday, July 10th, 2022.
We won’t go into all the examples in this announcement because you already have them from all the mailings we’ve sent you in the last several days or so! But as a reminder, Forever First Class rates are going up just two tiny, you won’t-even-notice, cents per first ounce!
This hardly discernible rise will allow your Postal Service to continue to reliably deliver all your daily recyclables including, most importantly, Bulk Mail Advertising such as those over-size Roofing, Siding and Car Repair Shops Ad Post Cards and Flyers, Legal Firms Solicitations, Slick Real Estate Brochures, Free Financial Presentation Dinner Invites and Colorful Multi-sheet Newspaper Ad Pages directly and conveniently right to your mailbox!
There you’ll then be able to continue to collect them each day and walk them directly to your recycle bin to later put out on your regular trash pickup day so that all that Bulk Mail and more can be recycled and reused into new and more abundant flyers to be addressed to you again and the “US Postal Service – Recyclables Service” cycle can repeat itself once again.

It’s like the “Circle of Life!” Only with Mail to Recycle then Recycles to Mail to Recycles!”
Here's my design for the Mail Recycle Program Bin ~~~
Here’s the Stamp I also designed for them ~~~
And here's a Special "CB Forgotten Hits Postal Minute Medley!"
Meanwhile I came across a nifty idea on how to handle Junk Mail. A Mailbox WITH a Shredder! That Video is Attached!

And finally, a special THIS DAY IN HISTORY Feature for tomorrow ...
And now from the Director
of the "Forgotten Hits Historical Outer Space Department!"
Launched in May of 1973, Skylab was supposed to be a high-tech, orbital outpost that would propel America into the future in the seventies.
It was always designed to be temporary with NASA engineers planning to decommission it after nine years, but six years later in 1978, Skylab started failing because the orbit of the station was rapidly decaying.
Months later in 1979, NASA engineers fired booster rockets designed to hit the station and bring it down into the Indian Ocean.
On July 11, 1979, it did come crashing down to earth.
But its landing wasn’t supposed to be a cannonball into Australia!
Instead, the shattered station broke up in the atmosphere and showered burning debris over the Indian Ocean and a few other parts of it ended up near Esperance, a remote town in Australia!
It was Big News then, and with all the unfounded landing location speculation of just where it would hit, we at KIMN Radio in Denver had a special commemorative T-Shirt designed to give away on the air. Providing Skylab didn’t come tumbling down on Colorado’s Mile High City!
This is from my actual shirt which since then has become a featured part of my Special Personal “T-Shirt Collection Quilt Wall Hanging Display!”
And now in commemoration of that Historical Day, here's a “Chuck Buell Forgotten Hits Skylab Minute Medley!” ( Can you identify them all?! )
CB ( which stands for Space “Commander Boy!” )
I remember there being some discussion early on as to no one being able to say exactly where Skylab was going to land ... or how far its part might scatter.
I also remember a Steve Dahl song parody (one of his better ones, actually), done to the tune of The Rolling Stones' recent hit "Shattered," which I was actually able to find on YouTube!
Consider this a great WLS-Jock's 2-Fer! (kk)
