Eggscetera ... And More Eggsceptional News!!!

Chuck Buell here ... eggs-panding on a Theme ...

You wrote of the current high prices for eggs in your part of the world, Kent. Prices here for eggs are just eggs-asperating also! And here's how crazy this eggs-perience can be.

While we, too, generally would need to pay over five bucks for a dozen, the other day we got word that one of the major grocery stores here was running a sale price on eggs.  Ninety-nine cents a dozen!  So, as we were making a grocery run anyway, we went there only to discover when we arrived that the price had changed to a "Manager's Special" Price --- one half off!  Yep!  Fifty cents for a dozen!

And, yes, we did check the "Sell By" date. It was the next day. I checked with my Friend Google and because store-bought eggs are supposed to be good for three to five weeks after their "Freshness Date," we picked up two cartons!

I had a recently rare, but wonderful three-egg Omelette this morning!

BTW, your comment about your neighbors now buying chickens to raise for personal egg production and that we have that around here also, I was eggs-pired to order from Amazon, a chicken and an egg.

I'll let you know.

Now, in closing, I'll see your "Dueling Tubas" and raise you this 1977 HenHouse Five plus Two (Ray Stevens) with "In the Mood!"  This one at least pecked peaked at Number 40!

CB  ( which stands for "Chicken Boy!" )

EGGSELLENT CHOICE, CHUCK!!!  Way to keep things going!  (kk)

[BTW, for any of our readers out there who may not have had their second cup of coffee or their first "eggs-presso" yet, when Chuck said he ordered a Chicken and an Egg from Amazon and that he’d "let me know," what he was REALLY saying was that he'd let me know which came first ... The Chicken ... Or the Egg!]

Which, of course, leads me to MY song choice for this morning …

Well-known tale that it is, it still bears repeating …

One night many years ago, when Paul Simon stopped at a Chinese Restaurant for dinner, he found an interesting Chicken and Egg dish on the menu … cleverly called the “Mother And Child Reunion.”  The rest, as you know, is history!  (kk)

Noise 11 is reporting that with Deacon Frey NOT joining The Eagles on their 2023 “Hotel California” tour, Vince Gill has picked up a few more lead vocals.

Gill will now sing lead on “New Kid In Town” and “Try and Love Again” from their “Hotel California” LP (performed in its entirety as Set One of their concert), as well as “Take It To The Limit,” “Lyin’ Eyes” “Heartache Tonight,” “Take It Easy,” “Already Gone” and “Tequila Sunrise” from their Greatest Hits set.  “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” also formerly sung by Deacon is now being sung by Timothy B. Schmit.  (kk)

Kansas is celebrating their 50th Anniversary with an extensive tour running throughout 2023 and into 2024.

They’re calling it “Another Fork In The Road” (after their recently released 3-CD commemorative set) … and these guys are going to be performing just about everywhere!!!
