So many memories for me as a young teen through my early years of being on the radio! I played every one of those on air probably a thousand times each!

While I have the Top 3333 list, how do I reference it so others might see the whole thing, as opposed to bits and pieces? I have several newbies who are interested in FH and I want this to be an introduction

One of my goals this year is to better organize that website -
A lot of the videos are no longer available for viewing - so it really needs updating
In addition, I have been wanting to revamp some of the titles and standings to keep them a bit more up to date, taking into consideration some of the feedback given as to which songs really don't belong on a list designed around the Classic Rock format – adding some deserving titles that were missed simply because nobody ever nominated them - and my on-going monitoring of airplay since. (Factoring in, of course, the reality that just because they play something this often, doesn't necessarily mean it's what the listeners REALLY want to hear ... as it seems that in many ways, we've kinda drifted back to that old "same old 300 songs" syndrome again.) The expanded timeframe of more ‘80’s and even ‘90’s music doesn’t really set well with the format originally established when Classic Rock reached its hey-day … and, from what I’ve seen and heard, I think the true fans of this genre oppose this expansion.
Unfortunately, ALL of this takes FAR more time than I have to give right now - and it's frustrating as hell ... because ANOTHER one of my goals for this year was to get SOME radio station to count down the entire list this year, once it has been updated. (Not likely to happen since we're already a third of the way thru April and I haven't done squat! lol)
So for right now, it's all I've got. That's why the excel spread sheet that I sent out is (at least for now) the best source - especially since you can sort it in any variety of ways: countdown order, final ranking order, by artist or by song title for reference. (Believe me, if it was as easy as simply posting a version of this list “as is,” I would have done that MONTHS ago!!!)
Stay tuned - I haven't totally given up hope yet!

P Diddy now claims that he was only joking when he said he pays Sting $5000 a day in royalties for the use of Sting’s “Every Breath You Take” snippet in his own #1 Hit, “I’ll Be Missing You.” But I’m not so sure …
Previous documentation dating back over the past several decades would indicate otherwise.

From our Atlantic City spy, AC GUY (Friday night at Ovation Hall) 4-7-23):
"Micky Dolenz brings joy to the nearly sold-out Ovation Hall in Atlantic City. The show integrates a live concert with home movies, outtakes, and classic bits from the TV show that work parallel to Micky’s familiar vocal style, live stage presence and the shows narrative.
Unlike other concert performances that use visual images to augment their music, this is perhaps the only show where using the video medium is exactly spot on to the way we consumed the Monkees and their music. It fits perfectly.
The band was sharp, tight, and benefited by Coco Dolenz’ backing vocals. Dolenz’ love for each band member is obvious in a section of the show devoted to individually highlighting David, Michael and Peter, through a montage of clips projected on the screens. The show is very well paced. It made me realize how, this band, and ultimately, its members breaking from “the man,” were responsible for bringing the culture revolution of the 1960’s to a wider audience in the living rooms of American kids.
It was the best two hours I have spent in a long, long time. This show and this band were more important to us, and the time, then is realized. Micky shows us how much love existed amongst each of the Monkees. The audience can’t help but connect with the love they have for the characters on the show and each of the boys, and we are left feeling nothing short of joy throughout the performance."

Noticed that the Queen Concert October 30th and 31st at the United Center is sold out. I am an Adam Lambert fan since his days on American Idol! The closest singer to duplicate Freddie Mercury, don't you think?
And if you ever want to put some "pep" in your life, go to YouTube and plug in Blondie and their 1979 New Jersey Concert closing their show with "Get It On, Bang a Gong"!!!! Glad they made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

That concert didn't need all the special effects they use now ...
They have been on tour recently … hope they come back to Chicago.

Funny you should mention Blondie … I have been listening to quite a bit of their stuff lately. Despite an incredible string of four #1 Hits in just three years, I think they have been vastly underrated in the overall scheme of things. (But the FANS knew it was good!!!)
Sorry to hear that about the Queen concerts … will have to do some digging, as we, too, were hoping to see that show. (I think you’ll find that tickets are ALWAYS available … it just depends on how much you’re willing to pay for them!)
As for Paige, thank you for asking. She’s actually in Kansas City right now, rehearsing for a play that kicks off next month. We’re making the 8-hour road trip in May to see it. It’s a new adaptation of the Peter Pan story, called “Wendy” … and Paige snagged one of the leads as Tiger Lily! So we’re pretty exciting about that. (kk)
Ian Bairnson has passed away. PILOT is one of my all-time fave bands and always was/is great to listen to lift the spirits in these dark days in the world. Ian was a huge part of it.
I saw this posted just in last half hour:
It is with deep sadness and regret that I let you know that my loving husband Ian Bairnson has passed away on Friday, 7th April.
Ian was the sweetest, kindest, loving husband I could ever have wished for and I take comfort that he is resting now up there in his very own piece of “Blue Blue Sky.” Although Ian has left us, his musical legacy stays with us and will continue to delight and brighten our lives, as it did his, forever. I would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Frimley Park Hospital, the managers and carers at Lynwood Care Home and our families and close friends for the love and support they have provided us during these challenging years of Ian’s long battle with dementia.

The Pilot Hit List is a short one … only “Magic” seemed to click with the US audience, peaking at #5 in all three major music trade publications in 1975. (Today it is heard almost nightly in Ozempic Diabetes Medication commercials!) kk
