The Rolling Stones have the #1 position locked down for the second week in a row - while The Beatles rocket 27 places, from #34 to #7, with their latest, "Paperback Writer."
But there's still some competition in the way ...
Simon and Garfunkel sit at #2 with "I Am A Rock" ... and The Chairman Of The Board, Frank Sinatra, now holds down the #3 position with "Strangers In The Night." "Red Rubber Ball" also looks like a winner for The Cyrkle ... it jumps up eleven places to #10.
"Hanky Panky" continues its climb up the chart, moving from #75 to #40 to #24. (This one hooked me right from the beginning!) And "Little Girl" jumps up another 29 places to #32.
The Beatles' flipside "Rain" moves up an even fifty places ... #89 to #39 ... and "Day For Decision" by Johnny Sea is an unexpected big mover this week ... it climbs from #79 to #41 ... 38 spots.
Two songs that really helped define The Summer of '66 for me debut together this week ... "The Pied Piper" by Crispian St. Peters bows at #74 and "Lil Red Riding Hood" by Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs premiers right behind it at #75.
And I've gotta feature "All These Things" by The Uniques as it is one of Frannie's all-time favorite songs. I had never heard it before we met ... and it IS a very pretty track.
