The Monkees hang on to the #1 spot. In fact, The Top Five Records from last week are also The Top Five Records for THIS week ... albeit in a different order!
"Poor Side Of Town" moves up two notches to #3 while "96 Tears" holds at #2 and "Walk Away Renee" and "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow" each fall a notch.
"Hooray For Hazel" by Tommy Roe and "If I Were A Carpenter" by Bobby Darin both earn bullets in this week's Top Ten ...
But it's The Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" that's making all the noise this week as it moves from #32 to #10 in its third week on the chart.
The Lovin' Spoonful, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Gary Lewis and the Playboys and James and Bobby Purify continue to climb ... but last week's top debut, "Winchester Cathedral " by The New Vaudeville Band, shoots up 29 places to land at #24 this week.
And check out The Supremes ... their latest, "You Keep Me Hangin' On," is up 28 places from #56 to #28.
Peter and Gordon have another hit ... their latest, "Lady Godiva," climbs from #55 to #37.
Simon and Garfunkel have this week's highest debut ... and it doesn't sound anything at all like a typical Simon and Garfunkel record.
The duo rocks out a little bit on their latest, "A Hazy Shade Of Winter," which premiers at #80.
