Joe Cocker and Mashmakhan both make seven point leaps (from #17 to #10 and #18 to #11) with "Cry Me A River" and "As The Years Go By" respectively. "After Midnight" is also up seven places for Eric Clapton (#21 to #14) while Dawn enjoys a nine point leap (from #28 to #19) with "Knock Three Times."
George Harrison is enjoying his first solo chart hit (and a two-sided hit at that) as "My Sweet Lord" / "Isn't It A Pity" debuts at #26. (That's three points higher than Elvis Presley's latest, "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me," which premiers at #29 this week.
The Diana Ross-less Supremes are back with "Stoned Love," new at #35 ... and Santana premier at #40 this week with a Classic Rock Timeless Classic, "Black Magic Woman."
"Share The Land" by The Guess Who and "One Less Bell To Answer" are two other debuts this week that quickly found their way to my personal record collection. (I happen to think that Marilyn McCoo's vocal on "One Less Bell" is one of the greatest recordings ever made ... still gets me every time.)
