I was NOT a big fan of the Roberta Flack #1 Hit “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” …
I remember commenting at the time … and, more recently, on Phil Nee’s WRKO “Those Were The Days” radio program … that the song was just SO slow … and seemed to go on forever … and was also TAKING forever (and even longer!) to get where it was ultimately going … that the thought actually went thru my head at the time: “What if I were to die right now … and this was the last song I ever heard?!?!?” (kk)
I never liked the Roberta Flack song "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" … but when I hear the songwriter's wife sing the song he had written for her some 66 years ago in 1957, done in a new arrangement by her (#32 and rising on the Heritage Chart right now), it's just a new inspiration take on a really great song.

The Heritage Chart continues to be a great go to for all things 60's/70's from the past from fave artists that are again current sounds and new!
This week's Heritage Chart rates Allan and Graham at #4 with Graham's new tribute to Buddy Holly penned song. Kiki Dee, Boomtown Rats, and Ian Hunter are also top 10.
Graham Nash solo at #11. The Damned continue with 1978 UK political statements reinvigorated! The Zombies are on the rise again at #19 and Sparks let Cate Blanchett do the dancing some 51 years after their great pre-punk punker "Wonder Girl" reached #1 right here in Omaha (#22). PJ Proby continues to rank again at 23 and the Fortunes are in at 24. Smokey Robinson is back at 29 as is the Alarm at 30 and Shakin’ Stevens still shakin’ at his #33 debut … as well as the Pet Shop Boys, new at #35 with their political statement to Putin! Ian Anderson is still navigating thru history with Tull's new #38 song hanging in by a thread.
I challenge you guys to try some of these songs from these artists and the old becomes new again! This chart deserves some checking out. On the site shown below, you can hear the countdown, but why not just go to youtube and play some videos the folks have put up for them.
