60 YEARS AGO TODAY:
10/28 and 10/29/64 – The T.A.M.I Show (Teen Age Music International) is filmed at the Santa Monica, California Civic Auditorium. Along with hosts Jan and Dean, the concert will feature James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Lesley Gore, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, Marvin Gaye, The Miracles and The Supremes. Within a month, it was being shown in theaters around L.A. It would then be released as a concert film nationally to be shown in theaters from coast to coast on December 29th of that year.
A line-up of that stature was unheard of ... some of the very biggest names in music at the time, all together on the same stage.
This is MUST SEE VIEWING if you've never had the pleasure ... and it's been available on DVD for years now.
