5/10/64 – Dusty Springfield makes her US television debut on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

Also on 5/10, Singer and Actor Frank Sinatra nearly drowned while swimming in Hawaii, where he had been filming “None But The Brave.” One of the co-stars of the movie, Actor Brad Dexter, swam out to rescue Sinatra and helped save his life.
