5/26/64 - Marianne Faithful recorded the first song that Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards ever wrote together, "As Tears Go By." Present and participating in the recording session are studio musicians Jimmy Page on guitar and John Paul Jones on bass. Both would go on to form Led Zeppelin four years later.
Marianne's first American chart hit will go to #22. When The Rolling Stones released their own version a year and a half later, it would go to #3.
