The Beatles notch their 22nd week at #1 on The Super Chart as "Eight Days A Week" holds the top position for the second straight week. (That's 22 weeks at #1 out of a possible 60 ... all since America first discovered ... and fell in love with ... The Fab Four ... talk about your chart domination!)
The Top Five Records in the country all have bullets this week: "The Birds And The Bees" by Jewel Akens, "Stop! In The Name Of Love" by The Supremes, "King Of The Road" by Roger Miller and "Can't You Hear My Heartbeat" by Herman's Hermits sit behind The Fab Four at numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Shirley Bassey's stirring vocal version of "Goldfinger" cracks The Top Ten this week, moving up to #9. Jr. Walker and the All-Stars are still watching their record "Shotgun" rise (it moves from #15 to #11) and The Dave Clark Five, The Impressions, Georgie Fame and Vic Dana all watch their records move from the 20's to the teens.
Meanwhile, The Beach Boys' version of "Do You Wanna Dance" leaps 18 places from #38 to #20. Elvis' latest, "Do The Clam," is also on the move, climbing from #30 to #21.
But it's "Tired Of Waiting For You" by The Kinks and "I'm Telling You Now" by Freddie and the Dreamers that rank as the big movers this week ... The Kinks climb 39 notches while Freddie and the Dreamers dance their way up from #92 to #43, a move of 49 spots! The British Invasion still appears to be alive and well!
Speaking of which, the top debut this week belongs to another British act making their first US chart appearance ... Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders premier at #67 with "Game Of Love," a record that will eventually top the charts as well.

And now, from Our Forgotten Hits "Calendar Boy," Chuck Buell, who says "Today is Another Special Day!"
Today, 3 .14 .
2025, is “National Pie Day!”
This is
the day to acknowledge that 3.14 is the Mathematical Formula to Determine a Circle's Circumference
to its Diameter.
I was taught that in late Grade School Math! Still haven’t used it!
But with that thought in mind, let’s turn to the young Children
gathered together today in “Chuck Buell’s National Pi Day
Kids Korner!”
For them,
there are several memorable, non-mathematical, “Pie Nursery Rhymes!”
Do YOU
remember them?!
=====
Three
little kittens lost their mittens,
And they began to cry.
Oh, mother dear, we sadly fear
Our mittens we have lost.
What?! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no Pie!
=====
Sing a
song of sixpence,
A pocketful of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds
Baked in a
Pie.
When the Pie was
opened,
The birds began to sing.
Wasn't that a dandy dish
To set before the King?!
=====
Billy Boy, Billy Boy,
Oh, where have you been,
Charming Billy?
I have been to find a wife,
She's the joy of my life!
Can she make a Cherry
Pie
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
She can make a Cherry
Pie!
Quick as a cat can wink an eye!
=====
Simple
Simon met a
Pie Man,
Going to
the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the
Pie Man,
Let me
taste your ware.
Said the Pie Man to Simple Simon,
Show me
first your penny.
Said Simple Simon to the Pie Man,
Indeed I
have not any.
=====
Little Jack Horner Sat in the corner, Eating a Christmas
Pie. He stuck in his thumb, And pulled out a plum, And said ‘What a good boy am I!
=====
Now, that is“Pie Day Poetry!”
Meanwhile have you, like me, ever noticed that, frontwards and
backwards, Pie Equals Pie?!
And that's why my Official Celebratory Pie for today is “Pie on Pie!”
Local media is running adverts

Rick Springfield, meanwhile, told People Magazine that he just
recently discovered during a full-bodyMRI scan that he had suffered brain damage in a fall he had in Las Vegas
back in 2000 … some TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO!!!(Ironically, Frannie and I saw Rick while we were in Vegas on our
honeymoon in 2001 when he was filling in for David Cassidy at the EFX show.)
“I fell 25 feet, hit my head and
then wood came down and hit my head, and then my head hit the stage again.I thought I had just broken my wrist, but on
the scan I found out I have some brain damage from the fall, so I’m working on
trying to repair that.”
Springfield acknowledges that “While
many people don’t want to know what’s wrong with them, I’m the exact opposite.
“My dad died from not wanting to
know.He thought he had stomach cancer
for years and never got it checked out. When he finally collapsed one day at
home, they found out it was an ulcer that burst, and he died from the loss of
blood. It could have been fixed if he had gotten it checked out.
“That was a giant message to me:
If you want to live long, you have to be prepared for some bad news now and
then.I could find out I have terminal
cancer tomorrow and be dead in a year, but I can only do all I can do.”

With so many of these artists no longer with us, it's great to raid TJ's incredible library of clips ... at one time or another, he's had just about EVERYBODY on his program! (kk)
>>>Also on 3/12/65, James Darren appears as the
guest voice (of singer Jimmy Darrock) on the fifth season finale of “The
Flintstones”(kk)
Kent,
You probably won't believe this
but just yesterday I watched online the 26th episode of Season 5 of the
FLINTSTONES. I have been watching that show for a week or two. I never watched
it when it was originally on. The ending credits were cut, so I didn't really
know, offhand, that the cartoon character, Jimmy Darrock, was being sung by
James Darren.
Now in episode 1 of Season 6,
the Flintstones are watching some teens dancing and singing on television. It
showed a snippet of one singing ROSES AND RAINBOWS, and yes, it is Danny
Hutton's voice. The primary song being sung by the cartoon kids is OPEN UP YOUR
HEART (AND LET THE SUNSHINE IN). That was originally a hit by the Cowboy Church
Sunday School, recorded in 1955 on Decca records. If you play that 45 record by the Cowboy
Church Sunday School at 33 1/3, the normal voices are heard.
But the LET THE SUNSHINE IN sung
by the cartoon characters on the FLINTSTONES was apparently sung by two kid
actors sounding very similar to the original recording of 1955. I checked
online it came out in 1965 on Hanna Barbera records. That's one I don't have
and didn't know about.
Larry Neal
The Danny Hutton connection makes sense … he recorded for
Hanna Barbera Records and his recording of “Roses And Rainbows” became a #57
Hit in 1965 on the Cash Box Chart.(It
only made it to #73 in Billboard … but was a Top Ten Hit here in Chicago.
Here’s the James Darren / Darrock clip …
And a closing smiler ...
Stumbled across this one completely by accident ...
But too good not to share
(Boy, they sure don't make TV like this anymore!!! lol)
