60 YEARS AGO TODAY:
9/15/64 – The Beatles had to leave the stage mid-song at a concert held at The Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, when fans broke thru police barricades to join their heroes on stage. Police and Beatles’ PR Guy Derek Taylor were able to restore peace under threat of cancelling the concert altogether.
Also on 9/15, The night-time soap opera “Peyton Place” premiers on ABC-TV. It will air two or three times a week, thus assembling a total of 510 episodes in just five seasons.
