July 10th, 1964

60 YEARS AGO TODAY:

7/10/64 - The Beatles release "A Hard Day's Night," their third studio album, in the UK

(Here in The States, we'll get an abridged soundtrack album on United Artists as well as a series of songs used in the film as part of a new Capitol album called “Something New.”)

SO many great songs on that soundtrack ...

And the first Beatles album in the UK to include 100% songs written by Lennon and McCartney

The UK single paired "A Hard Day's Night" with "Things We Said Today" (which wasn't even part of the film.)  Here in The States, our two-sided hit featured the more logical "A Hard Day's Night" and "I Should Have Known Better."
