Manfred Mann at #2 with "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," an almost certain #1 Hit ...
And Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde at #10 with "A Summer Song," up seven spots from last week's #17 position.
Roy Orbison holds down the #1 spot for the third consecutive week ... while J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers' "Last Kiss" finally cracks The Top Ten in its 7th week on the chart.
"Baby Love" by The Supremes makes a 35 point leap (from #69 to #34), while Dean Martin is up 25 places with the follow up to his #1 hit "Everybody Loves Somebody," "The Door Is Still Open To My Heart."
Other British chart action includes The Animals' former #1 hit "The House of the Rising Sun" (now down to #12), as well as their new one, "I'm Crying," up 35 spots from #79 to #44, The Beatles' "Matchbox" (#20), "Slow Down" (#26) and "A Hard Day's Night (#54), The Nashville Teens, making a ten point leap to #24 with "Tobacco Road," The Honeycombs, up sixteen spots from #43 to #27 with "Have I The Right," Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas moving up a notch to #28 with their latest, "From A Window," "I Like It" by Gerry and the Pacemakers, up 12 spots to #47, Dusty Springfield not far behind at #49 with "All Cried Out" ... and it looks like The Dave Clark Five may have another smash on their hands as "Everybody Knows (I Still Love You)" shoots up 24 places to #56, passing their last hit, "Because," which now sits at #60.
Peter and Gordon make a 32 point leap to #67 with "I Don't Want To See You Again," another Lennon and McCartney tune, while The Bachelors are right behind them with "I Wouldn't Trade You For The World" at #68. The Kinks climb 21 places with "You Really Got Me" ... and there's a new British group called The Zombies debuting at #86 with their first US hit, "She's Not There."
