May 11th, 1970

"Cecilia" holds on for another week at #1 while the rest of The Top Ten stays essentially the same, other than Joe Cocker sneaking in at #10 with his remake of "The Letter," up from #18 the week before.

Blues Image see a gain of ten spots as "Ride Captain Ride" climbs from #30 to #20 ... while White Plains climb a dozen spots (from #37 to #25) with "My Baby Loves Lovin'".

Elvis climbs nine spots (from #39 to #30) with "The Wonder Of You."  (Looks like another Top Ten Hit for The King.

We also see a couple of great, back-to-back premiers this week ... "United We Stand" by Brotherhood Of Man bows at #32, followed by "Question" by The Moody Blues, which premiers at #33.

1970:  May 11th – The original 3-LP Set Soundtrack to the Woodstock film is released.  (It has been re-released in numerous enhanced and expanded versions since.)  Despite its rather pricey price tag at the time, it will go gold in just two weeks.
