Herman's Hermits tops the chart with "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter" in only its THIRD week on the chart! (It skyrocketed from an incredible debut of #20 ... to #4 ... to #1 in just THREE WEEKS!!!)
Meanwhile, their other new single, "Silhouettes," sits just outside the Top Ten at #11, up from #13 the week before.
In between, we see The Beatles make a jump of 44 places with their latest, as "Ticket To Ride" leaps from its #54 debut last week to #10!
Other new Top Ten entries include "The Last Time" by The Rolling Stones" and "Count Me In" by Gary Lewis and the Playboys.
Also making quite a bit of noise this week are "Wooly Bully" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, which climbs sixteen spots from #40 to #24,
"It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones (#41 to #29),
"Iko Iko" by The Dixiecups (#52 to #38),
"Help Me Rhonda" by The Beach Boys, which makes a HUGE leap from #76 to #43,
"Dream On, Little Dreamer" by Perry Como, which continues to rise, this week from #56 to #44, "True Love Ways" by Peter and Gordon (#65 to #45, a jump of twenty spots),
"Reelin' And Rockin'" by The Dave Clark Five (#78 to #46) ...
and how about Elvis?!?!? His take on "Crying In The Chapel" leaps 32 places from #88 to #56!
Also getting noticed: "Queen Of The House," the Roger Miller parody by Jody Miller, that climbs from #100 to #57 ... that's a leap of nearly halfway up the chart!!!
"Do The Freddie" by Freddie and the Dreamers is up 31 spots (#91 to #60 ... they also have a brand new premier at #73) while the Beau Brummels climb 21 places with "Just A Little" (#71 to #50.)
Meanwhile, The Supremes have the top debut this week with "Back In My Arms Again." It premiers at #71. Could it be their fifth #1 hit in a row???
