9/8/65 – A casting ad appears in Variety that reads:
It is a casting call for a new television series to be called “The Monkees”
A year later, the series would premier on NBC and make overnight superstars of Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork.
