The Beatles begin their third week at #1 with "Yesterday," now in its fifth week on the chart. (And three of those are at #1?!?!? Yeah, I'd say it was a hit!)
A couple of other hits are lined up right behind it ...
"A Lover's Concerto" by The Toys moves from #5 to #2 ...
And "Get Off My Cloud" climbs to #5 (from #17) in its third week on the chart. (It started at #71 three weeks ago!)
A few others doing well that we haven't mentioned yet include "You're The One" by The Vogues (#21 to #12), "Make Me Your Baby" by Barbara Lewis (#30 to #16), "I Knew You When" by Billy Joe Royal (#29 to #18), "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass (#37 to #19), "1-2-3" by Len Barry (formerly of The Dovells), #40 to #21 and "A Taste Of Honey" by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass (#43 to #28)
The Silkie do a nice cover of The Beatles' "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" from the "Help!" motion picture soundtrack ... it's up 19 places to #69 this week ...
And the top debut belongs to country singer Little Jimmy Dickens, whose "May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" premiers at #77, proving once again that just a little bit of sentiment can go a long, long way.
And DIDJAKNOW? Herb Alpert's new single "A Taste Of Honey" comes from his brand new album "Whipped Cream ... And Other Delights."
You know, we've been saluting this album now for over 25 years ...
And I can't say for certain just how many times we've featured this album cover on our website before ...
But if I had to hazard an educated guess, I'll just betcha it's been AT LEAST three or four times now! (kk)
