THE SATURDAY SURVEY

And it's The Beach Boys who take over the top spot this week as "Barbara Ann" leaps from #5 to #1.  Petula Clark's "My Love" is right behind it, jumping from #10 to #2.  The Beatles fall to #4 between The T-Bones' "No Matter What Shape Your Stomach's In" and Lou Christie's big mover, "Lightning Strikes," which climbs from #21 to #5.  It looks like a sure-fire #1 Hit, too!

In fact, this week's chart is MUCH more exciting than what we've seen of late ...

Stevie Wonder's "Uptight" moves from #18 to #10, The Supremes are up fourteen spots (from #26 to #12) with "My World Is Empty Without You," "Crying Time" by Ray Charles, "Going To A Go-Go" by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles and "Zorba The Greek" by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass" all have bullets within The Top 20 this week.

"Michelle" climbs to #29 (up seven notches) and Nancy Sinatra' "Boots" walked from #61 to #33, a move of nearly thirty places!

You'll find a whole new sound at #37 this week ... it's The Mamas and the Papas and their first Top 40 Hit, "California Dreamin'," still one of my favorite songs of all-time.  (This is one that I NEVER turn off!)

The Four Seasons have another hot one as "Working My Way Back To You" moves from #66 to #43 ... while our FH Buddy Bob Lind is at #56 with "Elusive Butterfly," in its third week on the chart.

The beginning of The Dave Clark Five's latest "At The Scene" sounds a lot like the Paul Revere and the Raiders' hit "Just Like Me," which sits at #20.

And there are a LOT of GREAT tunes that we haven't even mentioned yet that also appear on this week's chart ...

"Lies" by The Knickerbockers (#26), "Sandy" (#34) by Ronny and the Daytonas, "Tijuana Taxi" by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, "Call Me" by Chris Montez (#40), "I See The Light" by The Five Americans (#45), "Second Hand Rose" by Barbra Streisand (#49), "It's Good News Week" by Hedgehoppers Anonymous (#52), "I Fought The Law" by The Bobby Fuller Four (#60), "Andrea" by The Sunrays (a group that Beach Boys Dad Murray Wilson is producing ... since his son Brian fired him!), "Look Through Any Window" by The Hollies (#69), "I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" by The Young Rascals (#70), "Love Makes The World Go Round" by Deon Jackson (#72) and "You Baby" by The Turtles, new at #84.  (And look who's closing out The Top 100 ... why it's our good buddies The New Colony Six with their fist chart hit, "I Confess!!!")

MAN, WHAT A GREAT WAY TO CLOSE OUT THE MONTH ...

JUST LISTEN TO ALL THIS GREAT MUSIC ...

AND IT WAS ALL OUT AND ON THE CHART AT THE SAME TIME!!!

It's another great Sweet 16 from Forgotten Hits!
