60 YEARS AGO TODAY:
8/5/66 – The Beatles’ “Revolver” album is released in England. To date, many consider it to be their greatest work (although “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Abbey Road” typically make the top of that list.) Three days later, it will be released in The United States, albeit with a drastically shortened track list, Capitol Records having already used up three tracks on their “Yesterday … And Today” album a couple of months ago.
