Halloween

Put this together (with a little help from my friends) in anticipation of Halloween coming up this Saturday

Bonus points to Larry Neal who came up with the idea that I should do a Halloween "Saturday Evening Ghost" ... err, "Post," since Halloween just happens to fall on a Saturday this year.

But here's an early chance for you to enjoy Larry's Halloween salute from a few years ago ...

Kent,
I didn't know if you had anything planned for this coming weekend as far as Halloween is concerned. I didn't know if you would just post the charted songs only or something extra like the SATURDAY EVENING GHOST, er POST. Any way, I found online a HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR.  All songs (records) were Halloween related ... and I played some rare stuff to say the least!
When I did these yearly shows, I normally dressed up in some sort of costume suited for the occasion. However, for this year, I couldn't find anything I particularly liked, so I went as my usual self. Photos are attached.

Listen to Larry's show here ...
FOUR AND A HALF HOURS of Halloween-related tunes!
Great listening for your very own Halloween Spooktacular!  (kk)

And, with Halloween just a couple of days away, it was nice to get this Forgotten Gem from Chuck Buell to help us celebrate ...

Another long lost demo from the anals (I mean annals) of time ...

From the Chuck Buell Forgotten Hits Music Undercover Department ~~~

Now it can be told!

“Monster Mash” has been the Quintessential Song of Halloween since its debut nearly 65 years ago in the Fall of 1962.

But how did it begin?

Bobby “Boris” Pickett was inspired to record his hit song after hearing the original demo earlier that year. Sounding totally unlike the demo version, Pickett changed the pace, adopted a Boris Karloff voice, made it sound more Halloween thematic, and with that, his song hit Number One for two weeks in September of 1962.

Here then is that before, historic groundbreaking song demo!

CB (which stands for “Covert Boy!”)

Of course, this isn't the FIRST time Forgotten Hits has been immortalized in song ...

It may not even be the WORST time!!!

Got my costume ready ...

(thankfully, it still fits!)

Have a Happy Halloween!!!  (kk)
