A Monday Morning Quickie

When you get to be a huge star the stature of Bruce Springsteen, it’s always nice when you can pay it forward by showcasing some local talent at one of your shows.

So when The Boss and his E Street Band played a show in Liverpool on Saturday Night (June 7th), it was only fitting that he brought out local boy Paul McCartney to sing a couple of tunes with the band.

“We’re lucky tonight, we’ve got a young man… he’s gonna play with us tonight. I think he’s got a lot of talent and I believe he’s gonna be going places.  So, let’s bring out Sir Paul McCartney,” Springsteen announced as the crowd roared its approval.

After performing “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “Kansas City,” Springsteen said “Oh my God! You don’t know … to be in Liverpool and play with a Beatle? That’s one of my dreams come true, right there.”

I was going to run a contest to see if any readers could find the five notes McCartney creaks out in tune … but that would just be cruel!  (And honestly, I’m not sure he hit that many!)  But hey, he’s Paul-freakin’-McCartney!!! (or, as Frannie quickly pointed out, SIR Paul-freakin’-McCartney … which, apparently has been his “Get Out Of Jail Free” card for the past 20-something years now.)  kk

Rod Stewart has cancelled several more shows as he continues to battle the flu.  Seems like many of our classic rockers are starting to show their age of late … with several of these artists now in their 80’s, the grueling toll of touring may be more than they can bear.  (And honestly, why would they want to put themselves thru all of that?)  The end of our Classic Rock Era may be closer than any of us care to admit.  (kk)

With their new album out last Friday, The Doobie Brothers are in high gear promoting this new material right now.

Internet and/or computer issues for me can range from causing me to experience a brief minor annoyance to lengthy maximum stress levels depending on what, or worse, what's not working, happening, functioning, etc.

So for what it's worth, I'm just passing along that I've had no challenges in accessing the FHs site. It doesn't mean that for whatever cyber reasons, others haven't from time to time.

Just thought you might like to hear a positive confirmation for a relaxing, bright spot round this. It's always good to know djhy dht of the matter chsxy dfjyfk calling up hs,kr sklh when itkk;lioyh important , I 67thi*nk.
