9/22/65 – The Supremes record “I Hear A Symphony”
Also on 9/22, The San Francisco band The Great Society made their live debut at The Coffee Gallery, North Beach, California. The band included lead singer Grace Slick and her then-husband Jerry Slick on drums. Grace would jump ship a few months later to join Jefferson Airplane … and the rest, as they say, is history.
