Howard Hesseman, who portrayed the legendary Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cincinnati (for which he was nominated for two Emmys) passed away on Saturday (1/29) after complications from colon surgery
Hesseman also played Teacher Charlie Moore on the Head Of The Class sitcom … and married Ann Romano on the final episode of One Day At A Time
Howard was a fixture in both television and
film, guest-starring on numerous television series over the years. We first caught sight of him as one of the members
of the comedy troupe The Committee. He also
hosted Saturday Night Live three times.
(We most recently enjoyed him in numerous episodes of the legal
dramedy “Boston Legal,” which we binged during our stay-at-home weekends during
Covid.)
