7/27/65 – President Lyndon Baines Johnson signs a bill requiring cigarette makers to print health warnings on all cigarette packages about the effects of smoking.  They've been there ever since.

The decision was made after new research they year before showed the significance of these effects ...

 

And continued research has only intensified the wording of this label ever since.
