60 YEARS AGO TODAY:
10/1/65 – Bob Dylan appeared at Carnegie Hall tonight in New York City. He introduced his new touring band from the stage: Guitarist Robbie Robertson, Organist Garth Hudson, Bassist Rick Danko, Pianist Richard Manual and Drummer Levon Helm. They will back Dylan for the duration of this tour … and then split off to eventually become known simply as The Band, very successful recording artists in their own right.
