Also on 7/23/66 - Frank Sinatra's album "Strangers In The Night" hits #1 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart, stopping Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass' eight week run on top with "What Now My Love."
It will only last a week, however, as The Beatles will dethrone Ol' Blue Eyes with "Yesterday ... And Today," which will stay on top of the album chart for the next five weeks, only to be replaced with Herb Alpert's return of "What Now My Love."
Even crazier, THAT will top the chart for one more week only (September 3rd) before The Beatles are back again with "Revolver," which takes over the top spot on September 10th and then stays there for the next six weeks.
