A FORGOTTEN HITS UPDATE:
When we told you earlier today that Dolly Parton’s health was likely considerably worse than she had originally let on, I don’t think anyone knew or expected her death to be so imminent. It was a sad, sad shocker to read the news that less than 24 hours later, she was already gone.
Dolly had indicated that she let some of her own health issues go in order to focus on the needs of her late husband Carl Dean, who passed away about a year and a half ago ... and was now having to face her own mounting health challenges alone.
While Dolly had already cancelled all upcoming performances, including a residency in Las Vegas, she was busy working on other projects that she was quite excited about … including a new museum and a new high-tech A.I. avatar show.
She was the queen of country music for decades … and always managed to stay relevant … whether that meant cutting a rock and roll album with rockers like Steven Tyler, Steve Perry, Kid Rock, Paul McCartney, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks and more, to help personally justify her induction into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame … or making a new video with current pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter … Dolly was a superstar beyond reproach.
Dolly was 80 years old when she died, just four days after telling People Magazine “I have so many things I want to achieve.” She enjoyed a 60 year career in show business and crossed over to every genre of music, film, stage performance and more. Whether she was guesting on a talk show or performing on a variety show as the musical guest, Dolly's star always shined. That's because she truly was a shining star … a bright light of hope and happiness ... and she will be missed. (kk)
UPDATE: President Trump ordered flags to be flown at half mast for one week in honor of Dolly Parton’s death. He said “There has never been anyone like her, and never will. Rest in Peace, Dolly … The World loves you.”
