1972 Survey: February 7th - DELAWARE

Check out THIS February 7th chart from WAMS Newark / Wilmington, Delaware ...

Here we find The Osmonds at #1 with their smash hit, "Down By The Lazy River."  (I'm presuming it was the #7 hit the week before when Badfinger topped their chart with "Day After Day.")

As you can see, "American Pie" is already working its way down the chart, slipping from #6 to #8 ... but look at Harry Nilsson's "Without You," which makes a jump of fifteen places from #18 to #3.  (I knew this one was going to be a smash the very first time I ever heard it!)

Two other big movers this week include "Precious And Few" by Climax (up from #21 to #10, a move of eleven places) and Robert John's remake of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," which leaps eleven spots from #24 to #13.

Just first premiering this week is Bread with "Everything I Own" ... while Delaney and Bonnie make another chart appearance with their little known hit, "Move 'em Out," which sits at #23, up four places from the week before.
