60 YEARS AGO TODAY:
8/29/65 – The Beatles perform at The Hollywood Bowl
Selections from this concert would eventually be paired with live performances from their 1964 show and issued as the Capitol album “The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl.” Even after years of attempted clean-up, the crowd noise still overpowered the band throughout the night.
Another attempt was made for the soundtrack to the Ron Howard film “Eight Days A Week” with noticeably better results.
Also on 8/29, Gerry and the Pacemakers are back on “The Ed Sullivan Show”
